She Can Do the Pom-Poms, She Can Do the Splits (DVD #4)
OK, I've pretty much finished making and delivering DVD #4 to everyone. Mom and Dad, Scott and Em should have their copies already. Dan's is done but not sent yet. I need to burn a copy for me and a copy for David.
It is about 37 minutes long, and I believe it is all from Christmastime, 1993. The camera used did not apply a date-stamp, so I'm reaching this conclusion based on the presence of a Christmas tree in the front room and me having a haircut I pretty much only had from about Fall 1993 through maybe a year or so later. I guess it is possible that this is from Christmastime 1994... I just don't think so.
We are all in it. It starts in the living room, where David, Scott and I are playing Risk. Dan is there playing a handheld computer game device, I believe. David has realized that Scott and I have been cheating horribly, by stealing his pieces off the board when he wasn't looking. He was beating us catastrophically anyway. I try to talk my way out of it. Scott, in his bathrobe, dances for no clear reason.
Note, this is not a "Christmastime" video like DVD #3 is. There is no Christmas morning footage on here. I think it was all shot in the days after Christmas.
The rest of the video includes, principally, alot of footage of Scott, Dan and Em playing with the model train in the "phone room". Some short footage of Mom and the Stott and Dambrink adults chatting around a very nicely laid-out table in the dining room. Kids playing Twister in the front room. Amanda Dambrink and Adam are there for that. Then Emily pretty much takes over and wrestles with Dan, does some patty cake/ miss mary mack-type hand and song games, eventually ending with several minutes of her and dad playing these games. Pretty entertaining.
I'll try to post a couple "screen shots". Yes, for those of you wondering, I am literally aiming a camera at the screen. But it just occurred to me that I may know another way to capture some stills from the DVD, more effectively. We'll see. Where is my tracing paper...
