DVDs 11 and 12

Alright, folks, here's the rundown on DVD's 11 and 12. These two both come from a single VHS tape (tape "E"). I am pretty confident that the material all comes from the first several months of 1993. It is clearly a tape that was made to be sent to Grandma C. for her birthday. The earliest material comes from January or February, 1993. The remaining material comes from the months after that, though there's some confusion, noted below. Here's the content:

- Tape opens with us all at dining room table. I am fairly recently home from Japan. I open the tape by telling Grandma C. Happy Birthday and welcome to her tape.

- Mom knitting in living room. Bandu (?) stacking game on card table on floor. Scott and patches make cameos.

- Em/Dan/ Scott - upstairs playroom, playing with "connex" toys (sp?)

- Shots of dolls in the window on the landing, items on the mantle

- Dan explaining some Japanese swords and demonstrating deadly deadly sword skills

- Family home evening in living room

- some gymnastic-ish play in living room, as FHE wraps up

- Em and Dan doing some gags in winter gear in living room

- Pinewood Derby on Broomall chapel stage

- big snow... shovelling in driveway. Note there are actually two segments to this snow shovelling, shot on two different days I believe. The second segment bears a date stamp of 3/14/93. No other date stamps on the tape, I think. Grandpa R. is present for the second.

- Easter egg hunting in backyard

- Splip-and-slide in backyard: Em, Dan, Hassam, plus, did Hassam have a little sister?

- Em and Dan do a song and dance number in foyer

- Super-soaker fight in backyard

- Mom/ Dan/ Em - playing chess by fireplace

- David in kitchen

- Em paying piano

- Dan and Scott in winter gear in the house

- Em and Amanda D. playing in living room with toy horses and barn/ farm

- Mom at dining room table preparing for seminary lesson

- Em reading "Petunia" story

- Scott and Dan doing card tricks. Em enters.

- Mom and Em reading

- Dan explaining the chess board he made

- more snow shovelling [I am fairly confused by this... note we have prior footage of things like the slip-and-slide and super-soaker fight... I am confused by the reappearance of snow, especially since other content later on the tape suggests it is a fairly continuous tape that doesn't extend much past summer 1993, if at all. I guess that is speculation. Can anyone figure this out?]

- Broomall talent show - "Man in the Mirror" and "Men in Tights"

- Backyard basketball - David, Scott, Dan, Iggy, Damien, Jeff F., plus Em on rollerblades

- Em telling "pull yourself together " joke.

That is all. The two disks are about 50 or 55 minutes each. Everyone gets a copy.

Seriously, help me figure out that odd second snow episode. The tape pretty clearly starts in Jan or Feb or early March 1993, and the entire thing seems to have been made with the idea of Grandma C.'s b-day in mind. I just don't understand how we go from snow, to a warm easter, to waterslide and water gun fights, back to snow, then back to backyard basketball. Maybe stuff got taped over when the second snow storm was filmed. That wasn't my impression, but maybe that's the answer. Or was it an odd post-Easter snowstorm?
